About Me:
Clayton Norman
When I first went to therapy at 15, the word “Psychotherapy” on the therapist’s door immediately made me feel like I was in trouble or that something was wrong with me. That first experience felt cold and clinical, and it turned me off from therapy for years. But when I returned as an adult, I encountered a different kind of space: one that welcomed me as I was. I was introduced to mindfulness, how to relate to difficult emotions, and how to soften the pressure to “fix” myself. My Those lessons reshaped not only how I healed, but how I now show up for others.
Today, I’m committed to creating a therapy space that is accessible, non-judgmental, and—most importantly—a space where kids and adults actually want to be. My work with young people is deeply rooted in the things I love: nature, skateboarding, and making art.
With adults, I often lean into mindfulness-based approaches to help people reconnect with themselves in a compassionate way. I also work from a systemic lens, recognizing that many of the problems we carry are not simply personal or internal, but shaped by the cultural stories, power structures, and societal forces around us.
I hold a BA from The Evergreen State College (2013) and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Colorado Denver (2022).
